Bilton news – June 7
Knox Valley Residents Association: at the recent AGM there was good news. Sufficient help to keep the organisation going for at least another 6 months was offered. Hopefully, this will be long enough for the future of the very valuable KVRA to be secured. Thanks are expressed to those who have come forward. Any further offers of help will be gratefully received by the chairman or secretary. Please telephone them on 01423 503581 and 01423 569907 respectively for more information.
The church tower: has now emerged from its cloak of scaffolding after several months. It is good to see it back. Thanks to substantial grants it has been possible to do more essential work than was first envisaged but there is still a shortfall to be found. We look forward to hearing about future fund raising events the whole community can support.
Coffee morning: at St John’s Church Hall on Saturday, June 9, 10am-noon. Entrance £1 includes a drink and biscuit. There will also be cakes, a tombola, raffle and stalls. Proceeds are for Kidz Club which provides weekly activities and family support for 2000 children from inner city and other disadvantaged areas of Leeds. All welcome.
Thanks for support: the organisers of the May St John’s coffee morning would like to thank everyone who supported it and helped raise £885.68, including donations received before the event, for Bunda High School for girls in Tanzania.
