Bilton news – May 10

Cruel weather: with the best bank holiday forecast for years the organisers of Bilton Gala must have been devastated when it became obvious the Gala would have to be postponed. But it was the right decision. Anyone who walks over open ground or has a garden will know that the land is still saturated. The Richard Taylor School Playing Field would have suffered massive damage from the thousands of feet treading over it and the movement of heavy vehicles and machines needed to deliver a successful 21st century gala. This could not have been allowed to happen. The Gala committee is working hard to find an alternative date which i expected to be Sunday 22nd July..

These include Woodfield Community Store on Woodfield, Road, Kendall’s Farm Butchers on Skipton Road, Korner Kabin Newsagents on King Edwards Drive, The Tanning Centre on the corner of King Edwards Drive and Bilton Lane and Natham Grassam Barber on Church Avenue.
