Tagg House Ladies: Friday, October 20 at Bilton Community Centre, 48 Bilton Lane, 2.15pm, Tim Fee is to give an illustrated presentation entitled “The Day the Queen Came to Emmerdale”. Visitors are welcome. Admission £1.50 includes tea and biscuits.

Jumble sale: in St John’s Church Hall on Saturday, October 21 at 2pm. Go along and pick up a bargain.

Services at St John’s: On Sunday, October 22 Holy Communion is at 8am and 10am. Morning worship takes place at St Luke’s, 10.30am. Next week, morning prayer is on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9-9.30am. On Wednesday, October 25 Holy Communion takes place at 10.30am.

Bilton Grange URC Monday Fellowship: next meets at Bilton Grange United Reformed Church, on the corner of Woodfield Road and Skipton Road, on Monday, October 23, 10.30am to hear from Terry Williams about his time in America.

Bingo: at Bilton Community Centre on Monday, October 23 at 2pm. Everyone is welcome to go along and enjoy a fun afternoon. Admission 30p, bingo books 50p each.

Bilton Men’s Forum: Trevor Moody will give a slide presentation on the history of Hardcastle Crags on Tuesday, October 24 at Bilton Community Centre. Free tea is served from 2pm, the speaker commences at 2.30pm. Admission £2. New members welcome.

Bilton Ladies Forum: at the meeting on Tuesday, October 24 at Bilton Community Centre, 7.30pm Dave Jones, the Community Defibrillation Officer is the speaker. New members are welcome. For further information telephone 01423 545511

Wesley Guild: Matthew Lunn is to give a presentation entitled “Christianity in Football” at Bilton Area Methodist Church on Tuesday, October 24, 7.30pm. The church is on Skipton Road though the main entrance and car park are at the rear off Bar Place.

Animation workshops: at Bilton and Woodfield Community Library on Wednesday, October 25. This half term event is also part of National Families Week and all the family can learn how to make animated characters and films. There will be two separate workshops, 10am-noon and 1-3pm. Adults must accompany children. The workshops are free but booking is essential. Please reserve your places by email info@biltonandwoodfield.org.uk or by telephone, 01423 564630. Alternatively call in person then browse the wonderful books available to borrow. The Tuesday Storytime for pre-school children is going ahead as usual at 10am and because it is half term older siblings are welcome to go along and join in the fun with their adult carer. The scrabble club is tomorrow, Friday, October 20, 2-4pm, admission £1. The library is on Woodfield Road on the same site as the school and Children’s Centre.

Kaleidoscope Ladies Group: on Wednesday, October 25 at Bilton Community Centre, 7.45pm Mike Bevington is to give a talk on The National Trust. Visitors are welcome, admission £3.50.

Bachelors Field Friend’s Group: the next quarterly meeting is on Wednesday, October 25 at Bilton Cricket Club, Bilton Lane, 7pm. This is open to anyone with an interest in the attractive open space between Bachelor Gardens, Bachelor Drive, Bachelor Road and Northern Outfall Allotments. The Friends help Harrogate Borough Council to maintain the Field. Find out what has been happening over the summer, what is planned for the coming months and express any ideas you may have for the Field. There will be working parties at dates to be arranged. Table top sale: at Dene Park Community Centre on Saturday, October 12, 10am-2pm. There are still a few tables available at £5 per table.
